2 1/2 days left

Sorry I haven't posted anything in a while but I'll catch you up! Ok let's see...
  • This week we went to an exhibition called "Psycho Buildings" with Kat's friend Claudia
  • Thursday we went to the Death Cab for Cutie concert in Brixton where unfortunately I only knew one song. But it was still good!
  • Then on Friday... we went to the prime minister's house. No I'm not joking we actually did go and tour 10 Downing Street! Everything inside was amazing the furniture, the ceilings, the paintings, everything! But I was only able to take a few pictures.
  • Then yesterday, we went with Kat's friend Jess to The Wolseley for breakfast and then to see Buckingham Palace which was almost right next door
  • Then Kat took me to Portabello Road where there were very cute and unique shops but it was extremely crowded for a Saturday
  • Then we went to St. Paul's Cathedral which blew me away because of the beautiful architecture and then the crypt down below where famous poets and political figures are buried
  • Then we went to the Tate Modern building where they have art exhibitions and the place for learning graphic designers to go :)
  • To get from the St. Paul's Cathedral to the Tate Modern building, we crossed the Millennium Bridge which was of course built in 2000- where we saw the London Bridge from a distance and the London Eye and Big Ben
  • And last but not least tonight we're going to the movie "Mamma Mia" in Hyde Park and making Gary come with us.... he's not very happy about it! :)

Monet and Van Gogh

Hey guys! Yesterday we went to the National Gallery after work and the paintings were amazing! I was able to see actual paintings by painters like Van Gogh and Monet and I probably looked like an idiot with my mouth hanging open just looking at the artwork right in front of my face! Unfortunately, we weren't allowed to take any pictures inside so here are some photos taken from the outside....

2nd Weekend

This weekend was very relaxed because we were all very tired from the previous week. But don't worry Dad I did manage to get more historical photos for you! On Friday, I went into London's version of Chinatown and Kat and I thought that Caroline would appreciate the "CCK Buffet" photo that is posted! Today I went to see Kat run in the 5k race for cancer research in Blackheath. Blackheath is a massive piece of land and in the 1300's it was used as burial grounds for people who died of what was considered the "Black Plague."

More Photos!

Here's some other pictures of the a pub we went to, more of the concert, and then the last one you'll see is actually artwork painted by a guy named Banksy. No one knows who he is because he paints graffiti art on London property at night and no one can catch him. But the reason he is so famous and has books of his published art in book stores, is because all of his art work means something or looks unbelievably real. Kat and I went through one of his art books one time and he is incredibly talented. So the last picture is his latest artwork that I was able to take a picture of. Oh and dad there's more history photos to come! I just can't post them cause my batteries are dead... But thanks for leaving the comments!! Keep 'em comin!

Update!

Hey sorry I haven't posted anything in a while! Work has been great and I haven't even had to get anyone tea yet... The concert was amazing because we got to listen to The Goo Goo Dolls first, then Powder Finger (which is an australian group), then Ben Harper, then last was Counting Crows. Hyde Park was beautiful and parks over in the UK are huge! I am finally posting photos of the festival/concert and around London! Leave comments if you like! : )

I'm here!

Hey everyone! Sorry I haven't posted anything since I got here but it's been hard catching up to London time since it's 6 hours ahead of Louisiana. If there's one thing I'm sure of it's that I HATE jet lag! But since I've been here I've been able to meet some of Kat and Gary's friends who are very very nice! I went to a 4th of July party here (haha) and ironically the hosts were Auburn grads! I think that might be a sign... : ) But anyways, I promise I will have pictures up soon I just haven't had the chance to take any yet. But today we are going to the finals of Wimbledon and then from there to the Counting Crows concert in Hyde Park! I'll let you know how it goes!

Packing

Hey everyone! Thanks for taking an interest in the blog I set up for London! I can't wait to go and I can't wait to share the pictures I will be taking while I'm there. I have just finished packing and now the only thing left to do is pray that I don't sit by a fat guy on the plane that smells.... It will be 8 hours so I'll let you know how it goes! : )
